Q: How to remove and install the air inlet tubes on a Nissan 300ZX?A: Remove the three air hoses from the upper tube (two hoses on turbo models) and loosen the two large hose clamps at each end of the tube. On non-turbo models, remove the three air hoses then loosen the large clamps at each end to remove the upper inlet air tube. On turbo models, remove the two air hoses then loosen the end clamps. It will be necessary to remove the retaining bolt securing the rocker arm hose to the Inlet tube. On turbo models disconnect the retaining bolt attaching the air hose running into the rocker arm cover. If equipped with air conditioning, remove the compressor for the lower tube. Remove the two bolts securing the air inlet tube to the fender well on non-turbo models. Loosen the hose clamps at each end of the air inlet tube on turbo models and at the air flow meter on non-turbo models. Pull the air inlet tube from the air flow meter (and turbo, if equipped) and lift the tube out of the engine compartment. Installation of both tubes is the reverse of the removal procedures.
