If the blower motor is found to be faulty, the entire blower motor unit should be replaced as it is not adjustable and individual components cannot be replaced. To replace the blower motor, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For 2011 and earlier models, remove the instrument panel assembly and the right side ventilation duct. For 2012 and later models, remove the lower knee protector, disconnect the electrical connectors for the brake light switch and Accelerator Pedal Position sensor, and remove the brake and accelerator pedal assemblies. Disconnect the power steering harness and remove the pedal assembly, making sure to secure the brake booster and master cylinder. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor, and on 2012 and later models, also disconnect the thermo control amp electrical connector. Remove the blower motor mounting screw, press the range holding hook towards the blower motor, rotate the blower motor assembly clockwise, and remove the assembly. To replace the blower fan resistor, remove the blower motor and disconnect the blower fan electrical connector. Remove the blower fan resistor mounting screws and the resistor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Reconnect the battery and perform the necessary re-learn procedures.
