The components of the module, except for the fuel level sensor, cannot be replaced individually. The entire module must be replaced if any part is defective. To remove the module, relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the battery. Remove the rear seat cushion and recliner, and then remove the access cover for the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit assembly or the secondary fuel level sensor. Disconnect the electrical connectors, hoses, and lines from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit. Tap the lock ring counterclockwise and lift the fuel pump module from the fuel tank. Disconnect the suction hose and intank wiring that connects the secondary fuel module to the primary module. To replace the fuel level sensor, remove the fuel pump module and disconnect the electrical connector. Squeeze the fuel level sensor lock tabs and slide the sensor sideways to remove it. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace the O-ring seal and carefully lower the fuel pump module or fuel level module into the fuel tank. Rotate the assembly until the alignment mark is facing the front of the vehicle and the two arrows are aligned. Align the lock ring and turn it clockwise to secure it. Reconnect the hoses and electrical connector, and reinstall the access cover. Reinstall the rear seat cushion and recliner. Reconnect the battery and perform the necessary re-learn procedures.
