Below are the instructions on replacing the lock for the tailgate,The first step is to first disconnect the battery negative terminal. For the lock, first, the interior trim panel of the tailgate has to be withdrawn, then three lock securing bolts have to be unscrewed and the lock has to be pulled out of this place with the further disconnection of the wiring connector. Recovery entails a reversal of all removed and hence a check on the fastening and release of the tailgate; if alignment is required, loosen the lock retaining bolts then correct the position of the lock before refastening it tight. Before replacing the switch, you have to remove the interior trim panel, that is located inside the vehicle at the rear door, take the wiring connector for the switch and number plate lights off and free the wiring harness grommet. Release two nuts that lock the tailgate finisher, pull the legs of the retaining lugs back, and take out the finisher. Therefore, unscrew the holders, pull apart the two parts of the finisher, winkle out the number plate light units and then take off the bulb holders. Observe the position of the exterior switch and number plate light wiring Harness and release the wires from the finisher, remove the tail gate exterior switch with the bulbholders and wiring as a single unit. Refitting is actually the reverse of stripping down a product or an item of equipment.
