- Q: How to remove and install a rear Sway Bar Kit on 2001 Nissan Quest?A: If you intend to have the stabilizer bar removed, then you need to lift the car and place it on jackstands. Then, both left and right sides: undo the two nuts / bolts holding the stabilizer bar to the link arm thus separating the stabilizer link from both the frame and bar. After that remove the bolts for Stabilizer bar bracket on both the sides that will help you disconnect the rear Stabilizer bushing clamps and then remove the Stabilizer bar. If the link arms need replacement, unscrew the bolt holding the link arm on the frame rail bracket and take off the link arm. For maintenance, ensure that there is some which are either hall or distorted like the clamps and bushings then replace the torn nuts. While fitting the link arms fasten them on to the frame rail brackets but do not tighten at this stage. Put a stabilizer bar bushing on the stabilizer bar and then locate the bar over the rear axle, fix the brackets and the bolts but do not over tighten them. After that, the link arm bolts should be put on the stabilizer bar, however without applying more torque, and as the final stage, all the bolts should be torqued.
