How to remove and install a rear axle shaft on 2004 Nissan Titan?

Prior to lifting the car, get ready by loosening the wheel lug nuts in the back, raising the back end, and ensuring it stays in place using jackstands that go under the frame rails. Mount jackstands under each side of the car so the front wheels cannot move when you lift the car off the ground. Remove the rear wheels. For stability, put the jack under the axle tube where the differential is located; if you have two jacks, use one under each handler. Tie up the driveshaft at its flange connection to the differential, then fasten the driveshaft out of your way with a piece of wire running beneath the vehicle. Detach the vent hose from its seal on the axle housing and put it aside for now. Drain the differential lubricant. Put each caliper aside, but fasten it to your car's chassis using wires, so the brake hoses don't dangle. Unplug the wheel sensors from their mounting points at each end of the axle, and take off the brake discs first. Pull brake cables, line fittings, and ABS sensor cables off from the rear axle assembly. Put open brake line seals back in place to block dirt from entering. Take out the top nuts behind the leaf-spring U-bolts, then remove the spring plates. Start by disconnecting everything connected to the rear axle. Put your jacks down and lift the axle out from under the vehicle. To put it back together, find the recommended tightness for all parts, then bolt down everything.
