Raise the window, then remove the door trim panel and watershield. Remove the door glass and the door module, which includes the large panel with the electric motor. Take out the rubber plug from the edge of the door to access the door handle bolt beneath it, then remove the bolts from the door lock cylinder on the driver's side or the handle trim on the passenger's side. For vehicles equipped with the Intelligent Key system, disconnect the door antenna and the door request switch electrical connectors, and remove the wiring harness clamp. Disconnect the cable, lock cylinder rod, and electrical connector by detaching the plastic clip from the lock rod, then pull the rod out of the hole in the clip along with the door handle mounting bolt and electrical connector. Pull the outside door handle to remove the lock cylinder assembly on the driver's side or the handle trim on the passenger's side, ensuring to disconnect the electrical connector of the door request switch. Slide the outside handle rearward to remove it along with the gaskets, being careful not to lose them. Remove the bolts from the door edge and take out the lock assembly, noting that the latch mounting bolts are located in the door edge. Remove the bolt from the outside handle bracket and slide the bracket to the rear for removal. Disconnect the door lock actuator and remove the lock assembly by disconnecting the cables from the latch. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
