To remove the tie-rod end, first loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and securely support it on jackstands before removing the front wheel. Next, loosen the jam nut enough to mark the position of the tie-rod end in relation to the threads. After that, remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut on the tie-rod end stud without removing it. Use a puller to disconnect the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle arm, then remove the nut and separate the tie-rod. To install, thread the tie-rod end onto the marked position and insert the tie-rod stud into the steering knuckle arm, tightening the jam nut securely. Install the nut on the ballstud and tighten it to the specified torque, then install a new cotter pin. Finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque, ensuring to have the wheel alignment checked by a dealer service department or an alignment shop.
