Nissan Frontier Radius Arm

The Nissan Frontier suspension system incorporates the Radius Arm as a component which functions both as radius rod and torque arm to control wheel movement and preserve vehicle control. Vehicle control depends on the Radius Arm because it links the axle to the frame to control wheel movement successfully. Radius Arm manufacture their body from lightweight stamped steel or aluminum to keep their efficiency high while avoiding weight increases. The Nissan Frontier makes use of transverse and longitudinal Radius Arm and wristed Radius Arm for its suspension systems. Trucks use transverse Radius Arm as side load absorbers while longitudinal arms specifically handle the loads produced during acceleration and braking. The improved articulation capability comes from wristed system parts based on their bent structural design. Different replacement unit designs fulfill various tasks dependent on automobile specifications to match terrain needs which demonstrates why choosing right Nissan Frontier replacement part guarantees maximum performance potential.

Nissan Frontier Radius Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: What are the steps to remove and install tension rods on a vehicle on Nissan Frontier?
    A:
Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel. Support the outer end of the lower Control Arm with a floor jack. Raise the jack slightly. Remove the nut from the front end of the tension rod, then remove the washers and bushing, noting how they are positioned. Unscrew the tension rod-to-lower control arm nuts and bolts and remove the rod. When removing these tension rod-to-control arm bolts, hold the nuts on the upper side of the arm with a wrench to prevent them from turning. Slide the sleeve, bushing and washers off the rod. Check the bushings for cracking, hardness and deterioration, replacing them if necessary. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the concave side of the washers lace the bushings. Tighten the fasteners to the torque values. Install the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the torque.
