Unscrew the nuts of the rear wheel, lift the back part of the vehicle and put it in a secure position by standing on jack stands. Stop forward motion of wheels to ensure that the car does not fall off these props. Remove rear wheels. Take off nuts at lower ends from sway bar links before pulling them away. Take out sway bar link nuts and separate links from Sway Bar Kit Remove bolts that hold down sway bar clamp and remove sway bars. 2000 and earlier models of Pathfinders have one bolt attaching each sway bar clamp; 2001 and later models of Pathfinders, Frontiers (2001 onward) and all Xterras have two bolts for every clamp. Look at the sway bar bushings as well as link bushings for any signs such as cracks, splits or damage related to aging or wear and replace them when necessary. Also inspect ball studs located at both extremities of links for any loose parts which require replacement of these links. Two bolts are used to fix the links to the body itself. The installation is reverse of removal above. Ensure that you tighten all fasteners up to their specific torque values.
