To remove the throttle body, first disconnect the battery negative terminal. For 1.2 litre engines, undo the retaining bolts and move the coolant expansion tank aside, then remove the air inlet tube. Disconnect the wiring connector from the throttle body, slacken and remove the bolts securing the throttle body assembly to the inlet manifold while working diagonally, and take it out of the engine compartment. Discard the O-ring seal/gasket and use a new one upon refitting, while plugging the inlet manifold port with a wad of clean cloth to prevent foreign matter entry. For 1.6 litre engines, drain the cooling system, remove the outlet
Air Duct, release the retaining clips, and disconnect the two coolant hoses from the throttle body. Disconnect the wiring connector, then slacken and remove the throttle body assembly as previously described, discarding the O-ring seal/gasket and plugging the inlet manifold port. Refitting involves reversing the removal steps, ensuring the mating surfaces of the manifold and throttle body are clean and dry, fitting a new O-ring seal/gasket, and tightening the retaining bolts to the specified torque setting in a diagonal sequence. For 1.6 litre engines, refill the cooling system.
