Open the hood, raise the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands, and remove the front wheel. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. For 2003 and earlier models, remove the cornering lamp from the fender, pry out the plastic rivets, remove the screws, and take out the inner fenderwell liner. Remove the fender mounting bolts, including the nuts where the fender meets the front bumper fascia and the two bolts at the lower rear of the fender mounted to the rocker panel, accessing the upper and lower bolts by opening the door. For 2004 and later models, remove the bumper fascia, then take out the headlight assembly. Remove the screws, pushpins, and four clips securing the inner fender, then detach the front portion of the door sill plate. Remove the fender mounting bolts at the upper rear in the doorjamb, at the lower rear beneath the vehicle, at the front underside, and along the top. Detach the fender, ideally with assistance to prevent damage to surrounding body panels, and once slightly pulled out at the rear, slide it back to clear the plastic studs at the fender-to-front bumper fascia flange. Installation is the reverse of removal, transferring the plastic fenderwell lip to the new fender if applicable, and ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are tightened securely.
