Unhook the power cable to the battery, loosen the wheel bolts, use jacks to lift the car, prop it on safe stands, then take off the front wheel. Before working, get rid of the
Hood and front
Bumper from the driver's side. Also take off the mudguard and fender flare from next to the tirewell when they're there. During removal, remove the side cowl cover under the fender. On Pathfinder models, you must take off the complete cowl since it's one piece; whenever you install the right fender on earlier models, clear out your antenna first. Take out the bag of plastic rivets first, then unscrew the bolts and pull off the small inside panel under the wheelwell. Remove the four bolts holding the fender in place: the front two holes, the hole passing through the fender-to-door connection, and the bolt at the bottom of fender-to-rocker panel. Pull open the car door and take out the bolt (through the frame) that keeps the upper fender and door pillar connected. Unbolt the bolts on top of the fender, and disconnect the pencil support bolts on the leading edge of the left-side fender. Louver the fender off safely, getting help to prevent breaking nearby paneling. To attach the fender correctly, you need to start by tightening every nut, bolt, and screw the same way they came off during removal.
