Nissan Pathfinder Fuel Level Sensor
The Fuel Level Sensor in the Nissan Pathfinder is a component that detects the amount of fuel in the tank and relays that information to the gauge on the dashboard. The Fuel Level Sensor is located in the fuel tank and uses a float attached to the actuating rod to move the rod up or down with the rising or falling fuel surface. The movement of the rod causes a change in resistance of the integrated resistor, which sends a signal to the gauge so that a Nissan driver sees the correct reading and knows when to refill the Pathfinder. The electronic design of the Fuel Level Sensor is able to withstand high temperatures within the tank, has low power consumption, and delivers information promptly, minimizing the risk of a false "full" signal after a refill. Fuel Level Sensor calibration is required. It is also indicated that the sensor requires no complex adjustment during normal operation of the Nissan Pathfinder. It uses a single float, rod, and resistor assembly. When any component fails, the dash readings will likely begin to seem erratic and you will have to get it inspected.
