Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Drain the cooling system, remove the power steering pump and set it aside without disconnecting the fluid lines. Remove the throttle body, the fuel rail and the fuel injectors. Label and detach all wire harnesses, control cables, coolant and vacuum hoses connected to the intake manifold. Also disconnect the EGR pipes from the EGR valve. Working underneath the vehicle, unbolt the lower brace from the intake manifold. Remove the mounting nuts/bolts, then detach the manifold from the engine. Use a scraper to remove all traces of old gasket material and sealant from the manifold and cylinder head, then clean the mating surfaces with lacquer thinner or acetone. Install a new gasket, then position the manifold on the cylinder head and install the nuts/bolts. Tighten the nuts/bolts in three or four equal steps to the specific torque. Follow the recommended tightening sequence. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal. Refill the cooling system. Before starting the engine, check the throttle linkage for smooth operation. Run the engine and check for coolant and vacuum leaks. Road test the vehicle and check for proper operation of all accessories.
