To accomplish the removal of the leaf spring the vehicle should be rising with the help of a jack and securely placed on some stands, front tires should be blocked to maintain stability. Subsequently, put a floor jack directly under the axle in a manner that will take the weight off the leaf spring. Further, take out the U-bolt nuts over the top of the spring plate, then the U-bolts and finally the spring plate. Next, use a wrench to remove the rear shackle bracket nuts and then leave the shackle off the leaf spring bushing, and remove the shackle end plate, this is from the leaf spring, and the frame mount. Lose and remove the nut of the front pivot bolt of the leaf spring; then, pull out the leaf spring. If necessary, if front mount to body bolts are to be removed, the mount itself, for the right side, the muffler resonator assembly has to be removed, and for the left, the fuel tank. For the installation process, there must be a reversal of the procedures involved in the removal of the sing, and it is worthy of note that the front mount to the body bolts must be tightened to the specified torque measure. On the left side of the mounting plate position the front pivot bolt and the front leaf spring mount bolts heads and on the right side the heads of the marked as OUTER. Do not tighten the rear spring shackle nuts and front pivot bolt until vehicle is off the lift and fully weight is on the rear wheels finally tighten all nuts and bolts to the following torque.
