For the replacement of the rear cables, make sure the parking brake is off, then you need to unscrew the bolts of the rear wheel, lift the car, and place it on jackstands with the front wheels blocked before you remove the wheel. Subsequently, remove the brake drum and the brake shoes; release the parking brake lever connected to the cable on the rear shoe; and disjoint the cable from the backing plate, finally pulling it through. Pull out rear cables from the equalizer and undo the cable bracket screws. Push the tangs on the retainers to clip the cable housing away from the bracket. To install, reverse the process in the removal; cover the cable end, which connects to the equalizer, by spreading a thin layer of grease and setting the parking brake as required. To access the front cable you have to first disconnect the negative battery terminal, second you have to pop the left side kick panel just below the parking brake pedal, the third step is to remove the accelerator pedal stop screw and then the stop itself. Lift the carpet for enhancing the clearance, unbolt the usage of the parking brake opening cover, and free the front parking brake cable and housing from the parking brake pedal assembly, primarily by eradicating the clip and then lifting the cable through the slot. Press the two tangs on the retainer to advance the cable and the housing through the control assembly and then, afterwards, take the cable bracket off from the floor close to the accelerator pedal. Last, undo the last cable end to the parking brake control lever and now raise the line from the passenger area. Refit the part by performing the removal process in reverse and applying similar grease to the part of the cable that rubs on the control lever, and adjust the nature of the parking brake assembly.
