Reverse the procedure by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts followed by rising the car and maintaining it on two jackstands before you remove the rear wheels. Let off the parking brake and take out the discs. Check the friction material on the parking brake surfaces of each disc for wear and damage and replace where necessary. Refer to the illustrations below for the procedures on how to replace the parking brake shoe, it is recommended that one side is worked on at a time to avoid getting mix ups. That completed, the shoes may need further adjustment and when and reinstalling the calipers, tighten the mounting bolts to the appropriate torque. The balance of the installation is the reverse of the removal operation, and the parking brake pedal may need to be resetting after a few weeks when the parking brake shoes have become worn in.
