To dismantle the steering wheel, first ensure that the wheels are straight ahead and then unplug the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For 2013 and earlier Rogue models and 2014 and 2015 Rogue Select, start by taking off the airbag module by unscrewing bolts, situated behind the covers, and at the side of the steering wheel. To service 2014 through 2016 Rogue models (except Rogue Select), taken a punch and fit it into any of the two holes on the lower side of the steering wheel to release the spring for the airbag module with the help of finger pressing in to the upper side of the airbag module, please disconnect the electrical connectors. Regarding the 2017 and later models, it is necessary to use a punch to unlock the tabs one after the other and then follow by raising the airbag module and disconnecting the connectors. Loosen the steering wheel and fix it in a straight ahead position and then using nut or bolt, you need to withdraw the steering wheel from the shaft, if it is tightly fixed, then it is better to use the steering wheel puller. In case when the airbag spiral cable is to be removed, the covers of the steering column and the wiper/washer and turn signal switch to be removed, then unscrewed and the tab should be released to take out the spiral cable. For installation, it is necessary to align the front wheels to be straight ahead and if the spiral cable has been detached, it has to be screwed clockwise until it becomes tough and then counter clockwise, about 2 ½ turns more until the arrow mark on the cable aligns with the location pin which will be at 12'o clock direction. Pass the airbag spiral cable harness through the hub in the steering wheel, then place the wheel on the shaft so that the marks are lined up, and the spiral cable pin is connected. Screw the steering wheel retaining nut or bolt in position and tighten then fit the air bag module and tighten the bolts. Connect the battery terminals and ensure that the air bag circuit is functioning correctly by turning the ignition key to On or Start, the "AIR BAG" light can be checked to respond briefly before turning off. Last but not the least, you should execute the re learned procedures.
