To remove the latch, first, you need to disconnect the radiator grille. Scratch a line around the latch which will be helpful while reinstalling the door, now you need to unscrew the latch retaining bolts and pull out the latch. Pull the end of the cable located on the rear of the hood latch assembly out of the cable retainer while pushing on the hood release cable to detach it from the latch assembly. For the installation of the deteriorated sections, simply reverse the removal process; with the latch properly positioned to give a tight fit when closed and, the hood bumpers should be slightly pressed down. To disseminate the hood release cable, one has to dismantle two components, namely, the radiator grille and the left inner fender liner. Release the cable connector by pulling it away from the clips that is fixed on the cable across the length. Third, take out inside hood release handle and free the cable end from handle by unclipping it and disconnect the cable housing from the slot. Sucks this grommet into the passengers' compartment and then lay this cable into this hole taking care in handling not to make any twists onto it. As for the installation it is necessary to act in the reverse sequence to the removal process, pressing on the grommet from the side of the passenger compartment so that it could be inserted into the correct position on the firewall while applying sealant around the grommet.
