There are two types of antennas used on these models,a grid type and a fixed type. The grid type is an integral component of the rear window and side windows, requiring replacement of the rear or side window(s) to change the antennas. To begin, remove the antenna mast and bezel using a small wrench to unscrew the mast. Next, take out the inner fenderwell liner mounting fasteners and pull the rear of the liner back. From inside the vehicle, remove the glove box and disconnect the antenna cable from the connector. Then, remove the antenna base mounting bolt and pull the base and antenna cable up from the body. Installation follows the reverse order of removal. If the cable from the antenna-base connector to the radio needs replacement, the audio unit must be removed to disconnect the cable from the back. For models with satellite radio, the antenna is mounted on the roof, and since the headliner must be removed to access the antenna mounting nut, it is advisable to have the satellite antenna serviced at a dealership or qualified shop.
