Locate the CMP sensor at the rear of the left (driver's side) cylinder head on 2006 and earlier models. Its reflection is shown in a shop mirror here. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector. It might be easier to disconnect the connector after the sensor has been removed from the head. Remove the CMP sensor mounting fastener and remove the CMP sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2007 and later models, remove the air intake duct. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector. The CMP sensor is located on the front of the left (driver's side) intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover. Remove the CMP sensor mounting fastener and remove the CMP sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
