To take off the front wheel, the lug nuts should be loosened followed by lifting up the front part of the car and placing it on jackstands, and finally, take off the wheel. Then, slightly loosen the jam nut in order to scratch a mark at the relative position of the tie-rod end with the thread; finally, when tightening the tie-rod end nut, do not remove it from the stud and also avoid violent unscrewing. Another way is to take a small puller and pull off the tie-rod end connected to the steering knuckle arm , coming off the nut and un-bolt the tie-rod. Remove the tie-rod- end from the steering rod by unscrewing the nut and bolt. For installation of the tie-rod end, slide it into the marked position in the termi-nation and drive the tie-rod stud through the steering knuckle arm, to engage the nut then tighten the jam nut. Affix the nut on the ballstud fixing it to the required torque, then fit a new cotter pin onto the stud.
