Have the refrigerant discharged at a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning repair facility. For 2007 and earlier models, drain the engine coolant. Remove the engine cooling fans. Remove the bolt and detach the refrigerant lines from the right (passenger's) side of the vehicle. Plug the line to prevent the entry of moisture or contaminants. Remove the upper radiator mounts. Tilt the radiator and condenser to the rear, remove the condenser mounting bolts, then lift the condenser from the engine compartment. Be careful not to damage the radiator cooling fins. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use new O-rings on the refrigerant line fittings. If a new condenser is installed, add 1.2 ounces (35 cc) of refrigerant oil to it. Caution: Use only refrigerant oil compatible with the R-134a system in your vehicle. Refill the cooling system. Have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it. For 2009 and later models, remove the bumper cover and crossmember to which the horns are mounted. Remove the bolt and detach the refrigerant lines from the right (passenger's) side of the vehicle. Plug the line to prevent the entry of moisture or contaminants. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pressure sensor, then release the retaining tab on each side and lift the condenser out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use new O-rings on the refrigerant line fittings. If a new condenser is installed, add 1.2 ounces (35 cc) of refrigerant oil to it. Caution: Use only refrigerant oil compatible with the R-134a system in your vehicle. Have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
