A:
Removal and installation instructions for 1982-83 200SX Models, 1984-88 200SX and 240SX Models, Stanza and Stanza 2WD and 4WD Wagons, and sending unit replacement are as follows. Always replace O-rings and gas hose retaining clamps. Do not kink or twist any hose or fuel lines when they are installed. Do not tighten hose clamps excessively to avoid damaging hoses. Release the Fuel Pressure. When installing fuel check valve, be careful of its designated direction. The procedure involves removing the battery ground cable, draining the fuel from the fuel tank, removing the protector from the luggage compartment, removing various parts and hoses, removing the bolts which secure the fuel tank and removing the tank. To install, the reservoir tank and fuel tank assembly are installed in the correct position, all lines, hoses and the electrical connection are reconnected, and the protector in the luggage compartment is installed. The battery ground cable is then reconnected. For sending unit replacement, the fuel pressure is released, the negative battery cable is disconnected, the rear seat cushion is removed, the inspection cover is removed, the fuel gauge electrical harness connector is disconnected, the fuel filler and ventilation hoses are disconnected, the fuel outlet, return and evaporation hoses are disconnected, the tank protector is removed, the fuel tank mounting bolts are removed and the tank is removed from the vehicle.
