How to remove and replace fuel injectors and the fuel rail in a Nissan Frontier? Posted by Customer

Relieve the fuel pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, remove the upper intake manifold from the lower intake manifold on V6 models, disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors, remove the injector cap screws and cap, pull the injector(s) from the fuel rail cup, disconnect the fuel feed and return lines, disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator, remove the fuel rail retaining bolts, carefully lift the fuel rail and the fuel injectors as an assembly from the lower intake manifold, remove and discard the retaining clips and withdraw the fuel injectors from the fuel rail on 3.5L V6 models, inspect the fuel rail insulators for signs of deterioration and replace as required, install the fuel rail insulators into the lower intake manifold and lubricate them with a light coat of engine oil before installing the fuel rail assembly onto the lower intake manifold, replace the fuel injector O-rings and lubricate them with clean engine oil, install the fuel injectors onto the fuel rail, aligning the tabs on the injectors with the protrusions on the fuel rail, install new retaining clips, make sure the clips are properly seated in the groove on the fuel rail flange, install the fuel rail and tighten the bolts to the torque.
