Raise the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar between the mount and the bracket and pry against it; for checking a transaxle mount, place the tool between the mount and the bracket and attempt to lever the transaxle up and down. If there is excessive movement, the mount should be replaced. Ensure the rubber within the mount is not cracked or separated from the bushing in the center; if it is, the mount needs replacement. To replace a mount, support the transaxle with a jack, remove the nuts and bolts, and take out the mount, which may require slightly raising the transaxle for adequate clearance. Installation follows the reverse process of removal.

There are three engine mounts and one transaxle mount, with the engine mounts located on the passenger's side and at the front and rear of the engine block, while the transaxle mount is bolted to the left side of the transaxle. Next, remove the engine mount-to-chassis fasteners and the engine mount-to-engine mount bracket nut, then raise the engine slightly to remove the engine mount from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal.

Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands while supporting the engine.
