To replace the front side marker/turn signal lights, remove the screw and pull the turn signal and side marker light housing off the fender. Twist the bulb socket to remove it from the housing and push in on the bulb to remove it. For the tail and back-up lights, open the tailgate on Frontier models or remove the bolts on Xterra and Pathfinder models to pull the taillight housing from the bed side or body. Remove the bulb socket from the housing and replace the bulb. To replace the license plate light, remove the screws and pull the housing from the bumper on Frontier models, unsnap the housing from the bumper on Xterra models, or remove the screws and pull the housing from the liftgate on Pathfinder models. Pull the bulb straight out to replace it. For the high-mounted brake light, remove the screws and pull the lens from the roof on Frontier models, open the liftgate on Xterra models and unsnap the cover from the trim panel, or remove the screws and pull the housing from the liftgate on Pathfinder models. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket to replace it. To replace the instrument cluster illumination lights, remove the instrument cluster and twist the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it from the cluster. For the interior lights, pry off the lenses for the map lights or dome light and replace the bulb. For the fog lights, remove the grille from the lower part of the bumper and the fog light mounting bolts. Pull the light out, unplug the electrical connector, disengage the retaining clip, and remove the bulb from the fog light housing. For Pathfinder models from 1999 and 2000, carefully pry the fog light out of the front bumper fascia and remove the bulb from the holder. For Pathfinder models from 1996 through 1998, remove the mounting fastener, pull the light housing out, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the bulb from the holder. For all other models, detach the clips from the sides of the fog light lens, pull out the lens, disconnect the electrical connector, disengage the retaining spring, and detach the bulb from the lens. If necessary, remove the nut securing the fog light to its retaining bracket.
