Nissan 14006-7Y000 Exhaust Manifold Assembly

To remove the exhaust manifolds, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and support the vehicle on jackstands. Apply penetrating oil to the exhaust manifold fasteners and let it soak. Under the vehicle, disconnect the exhaust Y-pipe from the exhaust manifolds. For the front manifold, remove the air intake duct and the top half of the air cleaner housing as an assembly from the throttle body, then disconnect the EGR flare tube from the exhaust manifold. Remove the bracket holding the engine oil dipstick to access the manifold fasteners, and take off the upper row of manifold nuts, working from the ends toward the middle. From below, remove the lower row of manifold fasteners and take the manifold off the engine. For the rear manifold, work underneath the vehicle to remove the rear manifold nuts and take off the manifold. During installation, inspect the manifolds and fasteners for any cracks or damage. Use a scraper to eliminate old gasket material and carbon deposits from the mating surfaces of the manifold and cylinder head. If there was a gasket leak, have the manifold checked for warpage and resurfaced if needed. Position new gaskets over the cylinder head studs, install the manifold, and thread the mounting nuts into place. Tighten the nuts from the center out, then reinstall the remaining parts in reverse order of removal, using new gaskets when connecting the exhaust pipe to the front manifold. Finally, run the engine and check for any exhaust leaks.
