Nissan 15010-4P201 Oil Pump Assembly

Unhook the timing belt and crankshaft wheel, then you can uninstall the oil pan. Unmount the engine's alternator and hang brackets on their own. Take off the power steering pump after unwinding its bolts but leaving the hoses connected, then set it safely to the side. Pull the pump bracket out next. Undo three bolts that secure the pick-up tube from the engine block. Then unscrew it from the oil pump and take it out. Unscrew the bolts attaching the engine block to the oil pump up front. Finally, disconnect the pump from its current positioning on the engine. Free the oil pump by pushing it off its current position to break the seal around the gasket, and pack it away from its two hold-down studs on the engine block. Scrape away old gasket material and sealant from where the two parts meet, then clean that area with acetone or thinner to prepare for installation. Take out the few screws holding the oil pump's backplate cover, and lift it off. Wash all parts with cleaner, look for signs of wear, and identify any broken parts. Pull off the oil pressure regulator parts, including cap, washer, spring, and valve. When you test the slider surface and spring, replace them all together if damaged. Use a feeler gauge to see how much space is between oil pump parts, then match these readings to preferred requirements; putting in a new oil pump system when you find tolerance variations higher than acceptable limits. Pack the pump with petroleum jelly to prime it. Firmply place the oil pressure regulator valve and put its parts in place before fastening the cap. Place the oil pump-to-block gasket over the engine block dowels, then put the oil pump in place on the block, lining up the cranshaft flats with the oil pump rotor. Install the mounting bolts and tighten all fasteners to their precise torque values. Press on a new O-ring to the oil pick-up tube flange, following the torque directions to tighten the bolts correctly. After removing the gear and lower timing belt cover, restore your system by putting back the rubber end seals and replacing now where you took them.
