Last, briefly jacked up the car and check the fluid level, if required then pour some more into it.

Tap the new seal evenly into position with a seal installation tool or a large socket. Finally, install the driveshaft and check the lubricant level, adding the recommended type of lubricant to reach the bottom of the filler hole if necessary.

Use a seal driver, a large section of pipe, or a very large deep socket as a drift to install the new oil seal into the extension housing.

Before installing the driveshaft, lubricate the splines of the transmission output shaft and the outside of the driveshaft yoke with lightweight grease.
