The primary sensor is located on the front side of the transaxle, facing the radiator. The secondary sensor is located on the left end of the transaxle case. Depending on which sensor you are replacing, specific removal steps are provided.

CVT transaxles have three speed sensors: primary, secondary, and output. The primary sensor is on the outboard side, facing the left wheel. The secondary sensor is at the rear, facing the firewall, and the output sensor is at the rear, facing the left wheel. To replace these sensors, you should loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, remove the left front wheel, remove the left fender inner fender splash shield, disconnect the sensor electrical connector, remove the mounting bolt, and remove the sensor. Don't forget to discard the old O-ring and apply transmission fluid to the new O-ring during installation.
