First disconnect the black negative battery terminal cable before taking out the center bezel dash panel. You must disconnect the radio from its dash mounting through the removal of screws which enables extraction of the device while unhooking antenna lead and electrical connectors. Unplug the power cable from the battery terminal to begin with followed by the removal of the door trim panel and speaker retaining screws and electrical connector unplugging and finally speaker extraction. The installation procedure for radio and speaker system mirrors the process of uninstalling them.

Take the cable off from the black terminal of the battery. Remove the center bezel panel from the dash. Take out the screws, pull the radio from its dash slot, and disconnect the antenna and electrical wires while you do this. Installation is the reverse of removal. To replace the speaker in each door, take out the matching door trim panel. Unbolt the speaker with the screws under it, disconnect the socket, and carefully pull the speaker out, reversing these steps to put it in place. Remove the rear quarter panel trim from the Xterra/Pathfinder, unhook the electrical connector, unscrew the speaker mounting bolts, then remove the speaker. Installation goes the opposite way of removal.

Remove the door trim panels, unscrew the mounting screws, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker.

Lift the cover, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the mounting screws, and separate the speaker from the cover.
