Q:
How do you remove and install the throttle valve switch? Posted by Customer
A:
Unplug both electrical connectors attached to the throttle position sensor, or just one if your model is equipped with a manual transmission. Remove the two bolts and lift the throttle position sensor from the throttle chamber. Note that any time the throttle position sensor bolts are loosened, it will be necessary to readjust the sensor. To install, reverse the removal procedures but do not tighten down the retaining bolts. With the engine idling at normal operating temperature, confirm that engine idle speed is within specifications. Disconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector and connect an ohmmeter to the top two terminals. Rotate the throttle position sensor counterclockwise and the meter should show no continuity. Rotate the throttle position sensor clockwise until continuity is established, then tighten the retaining bolts. Finally, replace the throttle position sensor electrical connector.
