Nissan 25260-5M001 Wiper Switch Assembly

Unplug the cable from its place at the terminal of the negative battery. Remove the switches for testing. With an ohmmeter, test each switch by checking for connection between the right spots on the terminals when the switch is set in each position. When the switch doesn't deliver the expected electrical flow, you must replace it. Release the electrical cord from its connection to the battery's negative terminal. Take out the knee bolster and steering cone covers. Unscrew the attaching screws of the switch to its housing, then lift out the switch. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Pull the terminal cable away from the negative battery post, then take out the controls to check for damage. Using an ohmmeter device, look for connection at both ends of each switch in its daily working positions. Replace the switch if you find the electrical connection is not what is needed. To test the switch in the rear wiper/washer from Xterras and 1998-older Pathfinders, gently pry it from the instrument panel, pull it out, and release the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal.
