To replace the radiator, start by having the air conditioning system discharged by a technician. Then, disconnect the battery cable and drain the cooling system. Remove the grille or front bumper, depending on the model. Raise the vehicle and remove the under-vehicle splash shield. Take off the front air inlet duct and the battery tray on automatic transaxle-equipped vehicles. Remove the air conditioning condenser and disconnect the coolant overflow hose. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses, and if applicable, the fluid cooler lines. Lift the radiator to separate the pins at the bottom and remove it. Inspect the radiator for leaks and damage, and have it repaired if necessary. Clean the radiator with a soft brush and water from a garden hose. Install the new radiator, ensuring the mounting pads are seated properly. Fill the cooling system with the correct mixture of antifreeze and water. Reconnect the battery and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Check the coolant level and add more if needed. If working on an automatic transaxle-equipped vehicle, check and add transmission fluid as necessary. Finally, have the air conditioning system recharged by a professional. To replace the coolant reservoir, disconnect the overflow hose and unbolt the reservoir. Pour the coolant into a container and wash out the reservoir. Inspect it for damage and replace if necessary. Install the new reservoir.
