    Q:
How to remove and install the front brake caliper and brake pads for various disc brake series on Nissan 240sx? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the brake pads, you have to first take out brake pads, guide pins, torque member fixing bolts, and brake hose connector; then you should thereafter unbolt caliper assembly from car and finally, you should bleed the brake system. When replacing any part of the caliper assembly, refer to exploded view illustrations; if unsure about the caliper's condition, replace it. For N22 Series Disc Brake Assembly, parked safety, remove brake fluid tube, free caliper from knuckle using the mount bolts and then, caliper was lifted off the rotor. Displace the pads, gripper pin nuts, and separte the yoke from the cylinder body, eliminate the holder yoke and the retaining rings existing in the pistons. Slowly add air pressure on the pistons to push them out and at the same time pull out the piston seals. To install, check for damages specifically on the seals, piston rings, and piston; apply lubricants on the seals and pistons and place the piston ring and seals in the cylinder bore. tighten the gripper pin nuts and the caliper mounting bolts to the recommended torque setting and then, bleed the system, inspect the fluid level and finally, lower the car on the jack. For CL22V and AD22V Series, remove the brake line connected to the caliper, then remove the caliper from the cylinder, and finally, eliminate the Cylinder body from the torque member. Using compressed air blow out the piston and to remove the piston seal gently use a flathead screw driver. After the inspection and greasing necessary parts, place dust seal on the piston, and then assemble cylinder body and torque member and din and the mount bolts to the mentioned torque. Connect the brake line, purge out the old air, inspect the quantity of the brake fluid and jolt down the car. The procedures for removal and installation of this model and CL25VB model are the same, make sure to clean up, check for abnormalities and replace the damaged parts. Fit the piston seal, install the piston and carry on with the procedures in a mirror image fashion tightening the caliper mounting pins and making sure that the system has been flushed before operating the vehicle.
