    Q:
How should new fuel injectors be installed and programmed in a Nissan Juke? Posted by Customer
    A:
This means that every new injector has a code that determines the flow characteristics of it and which has to be fed into the engine management ECU with the help of a special diagnostic tool, which one should consequently get at a Nissan dealer or at a garage equipped with it. Fuel injectors should be tested with the help of specialized tools; if the fuel injectors are believed to be bad, it is high time to address a Nissan dealership or a competent diesel mechanic. While delinking, it is very important that no dirt gets to the injectors or the fuel pipes, thus cleaning the area surrounding the two before proceeding is very advisable. It is essential to reiterate that all removed high pressure pipes have to be replaced, as well as the injector flame shield washers. Cleaning is done to the surrounding of the fuel injectors before the wiring connectors are removed, the catch on the fuel leak-off pipe connection is lifted and the connection is disconnected from the injector stub. Subsequently to leakage-free unions let-off, the return pipe union to the high pressure fuel pump must be disconnected and the return pipe assembled pulled off where the rubber plug and bushes shall be cleaned while all fuel apertures should be covered with tapes or plugs to avoid entry of dust/dirt. The nuts of high-pressure pipe union should be loosened only after keeping the injector central unions in hand while clothes have to be provided to help absorb any dripping fuel. The retaining bolts of each injector clamp plate are in the cylinder head; these bolts have to be unscrewed so that the clamp plates can be raised and the injectors taken off, with each injector in relation to the cylinder it belongs to. Copper washers between the injectors and the cylinder head as well as the leak-off pipe O-rings should in the end be recovered. Regarding the refitting, extended attention needs to be paid not to bend the injectors or damage the needle tips because they are manufactured with special care. It is necessary to remove debris from the cylinder head to reduce the chances of getting contaminations to the fuel ports, and the injectors can be wiped after removing the nozzles by using a cloth that is wetted with brake cleaning fluid of fresh diesel. New sealing copper washers for injectors, leak-off pipe's O-rings, and fuel pipe which are require for refitting should be purchased. Copper washers should be installed on new places between the injectors and the cylinder head while others should be installed on the leak-off pipe on the injector stubs O-rings should be fitted, new injectors should be inserted and clamp plates should be tightened to the torque that is recommended. There should be new injector pipes, union nuts on the injectors and the fuel rail should be tightened manually and then using the crow foot adaptor tightened to the degree of 75 ft. lbs. Regarding the exhaust section, the injector leak-off pipes should be refitted to the injectors while the fuel return pipe should be connected to the fuel pump. The wiring harness of the fuel injector must be connected and the upper and lower plastic engine shield/cover installed again. The battery negative terminal should be rejoined, and if the new injectors have indeed been fitted, the code must be entered into the relevant engine management ECU's at the dealer standard. Last on the list of things to do is the priming of the fuel system as well as fuel bleeding.
