The headlights have to be adjusted to the right position so that they do not dazzle other road users and for adequate illumination of the road. Headlights should be inspected as to their positioning at least once a year and when a headlight is either changed or added and in addition, every time that the front end of the car is waxed. The following procedure can only be done temporarily until one can get a professional to correct it. The working base at the start the vehicle has to be level, the tank half full and no extra load that would be over average. They are both vertically adjustable if you look on top of each housing of the headlights; there is only one adjustment screw on each of them. More steps if housing has been changed or the car has some frontal damage If the housing of the headlight has been replaced or the car has been through an accident that affected the front portion of it then some more steps should be taken. The adjustment process should be done in a wall that is empty, masking tape, a level floor. Adhere masking tape on the wall from the center of the car to the height of the car and apply a single strip at the height of the cut line for both heads, probably better if the car is at a distance of 2 inches from the wall. After parking the vehicle 25 feet away from the wall, make sure that it is balanced from the front to the rear and not overloaded. First adjust the low beam pattern where the high-intensity zone is set two inches below the horizontal axis, and two inches to the right of the headlight's vertical axis relative to oncoming traffic. The headlamp high beams should position the high-intensity zone just below the horizontal line in complete darkness with the high beam activated. There can be situation where perfect alignment of both high and low beams cannot be obtained then, it is more preferable to have the low beam to be on since it is more on safety. The headlights should as soon as be aligned by a dealer service department or service station.
