After the new receiver/drier is in place, the following steps should be taken: Have the AC system evacuated to remove air and moisture. Recharge the system with the appropriate amount of refrigerant. Perform a leak test to ensure that the AC system is sealed properly and doesn't have any leaks. It is recommended to have these post-replacement tasks carried out by a dealer service department or an air conditioning repair facility to ensure proper execution.

Take the vehicle to a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning shop to have the AC system discharged and the refrigerant recovered. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Disconnect the electrical connector at the compressor clutch cycling switch located on top of the receiver/drier. Disconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines. Loosen the clamp bolt on the mounting bracket of the receiver/drier and slide the assembly up and out of the bracket. If replacing the receiver/drier, add two ounces of clean refrigerant oil to the new one. Place the new receiver/drier into position and lightly tighten the mounting bracket bolt, leaving room to align the line connections. Lubricate the O-rings using clean refrigerant oil and then reconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines. Reconnect the electrical connector. Reconnect the cable to the negative terminal, evacuate and recharge the AC system with the specified refrigerant, then check for leaks and verify proper operation.
