Replace the cap and rotor as needed when installing new spark plug wires. If you are reusing your old cap then measure resistance between spark plug wires and cap; replace any whose resistance exceeds maximum value. Whenever you are putting in brand-new caps do it sequentially so that you don't break this order otherwise refer to firing order diagrams in case of confusion.
