Nissan 31375-41X06 Extension Housing Seal

To remove and install the driveshaft, first raise the vehicle and support it safely. Match mark the driveshaft and differential companion flanges to prevent vibration from incorrect positioning, then remove the center bearing and mounting brackets from the cross member as needed. Loosen the companion flange bolts and lower the driveshaft from the differential, carefully withdrawing it from the transmission while plugging the extension opening to prevent leakage. Use the proper tool to remove the oil seal from the extension. For installation, clean all seal contact surfaces and coat the lip of the new seal with clean transmission fluid. Drive the new seal into the extension housing using the appropriate drift tool. Insert the driveshaft into the extension housing, ensuring the splines are properly engaged. Raise the driveshaft, align the companion flange marks, and install and evenly tighten the flange bolts to 29-33 ft. lbs. Reinstall the center bearing if it was removed, lower the vehicle, and check the fluid level, adding as necessary.
