    Q:
How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the Nissan Altima? Posted by Customer
    A:
The topmost part of the transmission holds the transmission speed sensors. Primary speed sensor senses the speed of primary pulley while secondary sensor senses the speed of output shaft. Disconnect electrical connector from sensor to remove it. Then, remove the mounting bolt and discard off the o-ring then remove it. Spread some transmission fluid onto a new O-ring and put it on a sensor. It is as simple as that when installation is concerned; just do everything opposite than during removal. However, this procedure only applies to automatic transaxles only.

    Q:
How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the Nissan Murano? Posted by Customer
    A:
The speed sensors of the transmission are on the top of the transaxle. The primary sensor measures the speed of the primary pulley whereas the secondary one records the speed of the output shaft. Begin with detaching from it, in between them and after that disassemble them and throw away the O present in it. Place a certain amount of transmission fluid on to the new O-ring before putting it into place. This process is just opposite of removing process.

    Q:
What are the locations and steps for replacing the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the Nissan Rogue? Posted by Customer
    A:
The transaxle uses two speed sensors-the primary and secondary, on 2013 and earlier models/2014 and later Rogue Select models. The front side of the transaxle facing the radiator is home to the primary sensor. The secondary sensor is located on the left end of the transaxle case. Removing the left inner fender splash shield will facilitate your efforts if you want to replace a primary speed sensor while removing a battery and an air filter housing will be enough for taking out a second speed sensor. The electrical connector must be disconnected from this part to make it possible to remove it from mounting bolt. Discard O-ring. Apply some transmission fluid to new O-ring then install it on sensor. The installation is performed in reverse order as removal. On 2014 and later models (excluding Rogue Select models), it has three speed sensors; input speed, primary speed, and output speed sensor. On the front side of the transaxle facing the radiator is mounted input sensor. Located on the end of the transaxle facing left wheel is positioned primary speed sensor. Positioned just above left drive axle is output speed sensor.Remove battery and battery tray for input speed sensor.Remove starter motor.Disconnect electrical connector from this part.Remove mounting bolt then remove this part.Discard O-ring.Apply some transmission fluid to new O-ring then install it on sensor. The installation is performed in reverse order as removal. The other two are less complicated. They only require that you loosen several lug nuts, lift your car up with jacks or any available means and take off one or more wheels. This secures you when positioning them at their right places.Removing all these parts amounts to disconnecting some electronic fittings followed by taking out just one screw attached fastening. Finally, new O-ring needs lubrication before attaching it onto this part.As you can see, there are numerous similarities between these approaches. Are quite similar. Therefore, you can see that both methods are almost the same.

    Q:
How to Locate and Replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor in the Nissan Versa with Automatic Transaxles? Posted by Customer
    A:
This procedure applies to automatic transaxles only. On 2011 and earlier models, the output speed sensor is located on the rear of the transaxle facing the firewall. The input speed sensor is located on the front of the transaxle. 2012 and later CVT transaxles use three speed sensors: primary, secondary and output. The primary sensor is located on the outboard side of the transaxte, facing the left wheel. The secondary sensor is on the rear of the transaxfe, facing the firewall, and the output sensor is at the rear, facing the left wheel. 2013 and later 4AT transaxfe use only an output speed sensor. It is located on the top of the transaxle. For 2011 and earlier automatic transaxle models, remove the air duct and air filter housing. Remove the output sensor shield. Disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the bolt and detach the sensor from the transaxle. Discard the O-ring. Apply some transmission fluid to the new O-ring and install it on the sensor. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. For 2012 and later CVT transaxle models, loosen the left front wheel lug nuts. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the left front wheel. Remove the left fender inner fender splash shield. Disconnect the speed sensor electrical connector. Remove the mounting bolt and remove the sensor. Discard the O-ring. Apply some transmission fluid to the new O-ring and install it on the sensor. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal. For 2013 and later 4AT transaxle models, disconnect the sensor electrical connector. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Working from the rear of the transaxle assembly, remove the sensor mounting bolt and remove the speed sensor. Discard the O-ring. Apply some transmission fluid to the new O-ring and install it on the sensor. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.
