The turn signal switch is on the left part of the steering column and incorporates a turn signal, hazard, and headlight dimmer functions, while the right part has the wiper washer switch. Switch tests can be done using an ohmmeter or self-powered test light using the above shown diagrams to configure continuity between the marked switch terminals in various positions. If continuity does not meet specifications, such a switch should be replaced with a new one. As a preliminary step before replacement, pull the fuse of the airbag and take off the driver's knee bolster and steering column covers, if any. Currently, pull out the ignition key lock cylinder, then unbolt the switch retaining screws, disconnect the electrical connectors, and finally, disconnect the switch from the steering column. Installation is done in the reverse order that removal is done in.
