Access the internal component area of the handheld and unplug the control cable by pulling the electrical connector in the same manner Polaroid used when disconnecting the antenna cable from the assembly; that is, by pulling the cable in the center only. Discard the two screws that secure the power antenna to the body and then pull off the antenna mast retaining nut from the position on the fender panel. Descend the power antenna from the fender, and take out of car. To install the new power antenna, slide the mast into the fender hole and put the mast retaining nut on and tighten it only lightly, put the two lower retaining nuts on the antenna and tighten them only lightly on the body. Pre-tighten the screw of the mast retaining nut and the two lower antenna retaining bolts. Screw the antenna cable and the antenna electrical connector in; install the side panel trim piece; at last, screw in the rear luggage compartment trim piece. Last but not the least, reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
