Q: How to remove and install the Idle Control Valve on Nissan 300ZX?A: On non-turbo models the idle-up solenoid valve is attached to the Idle Control Valve. On turbo models the auxiliary air control valve (AAC) is attached to the Idle Control Valve. First, disconnect the negative cable at the battery. Place the cable out of the way so it cannot accidentally come in contact with the negative terminal of the battery, as this would once again allow power into the electrical system of the vehicle. To gain access to the Idle Control Valve remove the upper air inlet tube. Next, disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the wiring harness retaining bolt attaching the harness to the Idle Control Valve. Remove the three bolts retaining the Idle Control Valve to the intake collector. Three bolts hold the Idle Control Valve to the intake collector. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
