The windshield wiper and blade assembly must be checked from time to time for signs of damages to different parts of the assembly, including the wiper arm and blade, and signs of wear on the blade elements. The material of road film can accumulate on the wiper blades and sometimes reduces their effectiveness so should be cleaned using warm water mixed with mild soap. Depend on their usage, the motion of the wiper mechanism may cause the nuts, bolts and fasteners to come loose; it is therefore advisable to check and tighten them as you inspect the wiper blades. To demount a wiper blade assembly, there are two screws which fix it to the shaft and have to be unscrewed. Take the wiper blade assembly in one hand and with involving the other hand use needle nose pliers to pull the retaining tabs of the metal tip out and then slide the rubber element out of the assembly. Keeping the blade assembly in one hand, replace the new 'Rubber wiper blade' into the structure and make sure that the structure is in its place by securing the tangs of the metal tip. Last, take off in reverse for connecting as usual.
