When uninstalling the latch, first, the radiators grille should be released and a line is drawn around the latch area and then the latch retaining bolts are removed together with the latch. Subsequently, the hood release cable should be removed from the latch assembly, whereby the cable retainer is pulled out from the back of the latch assembly of the hood. To reinstall it, reverse the above steps, so that the latch is set to provide the proper hood clamping force when closed and the hood bumpers are slightly squeezed. The hood release cable is released by pulling the left inner fender well liner and unplugging the cable from clips placed through the length of it. Then, take out the inside hood release handle and unplug cable by releasing the end of cable from the handle and unsticking the housing from the groove. Take the cable grommet in the passenger compartment and take the cable through the hole, the push the grommet into the cabin to release the cable. For installation reverse the procedures of the removal for the harness, ensure that the grommet is in place correctly on the firewall by placing your fingers over the grommet from passengers' side of the compartment.
