How to remove and install ignition coils on Nissan Altima?

Remove the engine cover. If you're removing the coils from the right (rear) cylinder bank on a VG engine, remove the intake manifold collector (upper intake manifold). Disconnect the electrical connector from the coil(s). Press the tab and disconnect the electrical connector, then remove the coil mounting bolt. Remove the coil mounting bolt, then pull the coil straight out. Twist the coil, then lift it straight out. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Before installing the ignition coils, coat the interior of the boots with silicone dielectric compound.
