First, to release the latch, it is necessary to disassemble the latch assembly while loosening every
Hood latch bolt and fine tuning the latch. Release the compression spring and remove the cables out by lifting the section of the cable housing out of its slot and pulling on the end of the cable to free it from the hook of the latch arm. To install it, reverse the above process and make some adjustments like; lift the latch so that when the hood is closed, it locks and does not easily come off, the hood bumpers should be slightly compressed. To ease the release cable, remove the radiator support clips and the driver's side knee bolster. Third, remove the snap ring that holds the mounting fastener for the hood release handle, disconnect the cable from the handle by pulling it through the slot and, gripping the tangs, pressing it to unlock the casing of the cable. Take a length of wire and secure it towards the interior end of the cable to help in the installation of the new cable; trace the laid down cable forward to the grommet on the firewall and knock it off and pulling the old cable through the firewall from the engine side. Retract the guide wire from the old cable and connect it to the new one and then pull the wire via the firewall until the new cable reaches up to the release handle and the grommet is in place on the other side of the hole. Perform all the steps in the opposite of the removal in order to finalise the installation.
